Hopvine Bling Collaboration

In April we flew out to Denver to brew with our friend Brian Strumke of Stillwater Artisanal. He is making beer at Crazy Mountain Brewery, which is equipped with a 50 bbl brewhouse and a range of (very large) fermenters.

Given our mutual interest in exploring the balance between low temperature hop additions and mixed culture fermentation, we decided to brew a Berliner-style Weiss hopped with Nelson Sauvin & Hallertau Blanc hops in the whirlpool, and fermented with Sauvignon Blanc grape must. Looking at the recipe come together, and given our mutual interest in goofy pop-culture references, we knew we could only name this beer one thing:

After two days of work, we got to spend some time visiting other breweries, eating tacos and doughnuts, and hiking in the mountains around Golden Colorado.

We had the opportunity to taste Hopvine Bling earlier this week, and we're pleased to report that it is deliciously soft, flowery and vinous. Look for it on draft and in 22oz bottles throughout the country this week!
