Barrel Program Expansion Part 1

Before we started construction on our brewery in 2015, walking through the empty room, it felt cavernous and infinite. It seemed like there was space enough for everything. That space quickly filled up, thanks to the support you have for what we are doing. We opened our taproom in 2017 to be able to hang and drink beers with you all. We were able to add more fermenters last year to increase our production and to bring you more beer. The big room became smaller and smaller!

So it is with great excitement that we introduce to you our new barrel warehouse and the newest addition to the Hudson Valley Brewery project. Located in Poughkeepsie, NY, about 10 miles from the brewery, it is a 7,000 square foot warehouse that now houses all of our mixed culture fermentation. It's our fermentation space, our oak cellar, and our bottling facility. And it felt very big at first too.

To fix that problem we brought in 210 freshly dumped Napa Valley red wine barrels and have been working diligently to fill them. We've been able to expand our Sour Farmhouse production immediately, which means more barrels to blend from, more variety in our use of ingredients, more bottles to fill, and ultimately more complex and refined beers to come.

Our barrel facility is currently a production-only facility and is not open to the public.
Look for the fruits of our recent labors to be available later this year in our taproom!
