This week we’re excited to bring you Flotsam: a Little IPA brewed exclusively with locally-grown malt delivered by the zero-emission sail freight project of The Schooner Apollonia.

As long as the Hudson River isn’t frozen over, Sam and the team aboard the Schooner Apollonia deliver to us by sailboat about 15% of the Hudson Valley Malt grain that we use in our beer.

They sail from Hudson to Beacon, dock along the riverbank, load the grain onto trailers pulled by electric-assist bikes, and deliver it to our door.

Schooner Apollonia is an important partner in our sustainability journey. To celebrate their ongoing--and often very hard--work, we brewed Flotsam, a blissful summer cruiser. It drinks perfectly on a boat, or as close to water as you can get. Grab a six-pack of cans, celebrate the work of the Schooner Apollonia team, and enjoy the rest of the summer.
