Brightfield, our collaboration with The NoMad
Located due North of Madison Square Park, the appropriately named NoMad Hotel is housed in an intensely moody turn-of-the-century building on the corner of Broadway & 28th Street.
Inside, the labyrinthine series of bars, dining rooms and lounges are decorated with a level of detail rarely seen, and we were inspired by the recurring use of dark textiles and gilded accents found throughout the space.
To develop the recipe for Brightfield, we spent a lot of time with the team from NoMad, both in NYC and up in Beacon, tasting through barrels and discussing flavor arrangements. We wanted to highlight a few seasonal and local ingredients that could be found on their menu — landing on raw buckwheat and apples from New York State.
Brightfield is a Sour Farmhouse Ale with NYS raw buckwheat & apples, hopped with Citra and Mosaic, and aged in oak wine barrels for 8 months. Brewed in collaboration with the team at The NoMad Hotel in New York City.
