Kinds of Light Botanical Wine Coolers

We'd like to introduce you to our latest project from Kinds of Light Wines: Botanical Wine Coolers.

Our approach to making wine is very much influenced by our approach to making beer: we try to make playful, delicious wines that blur the lines of our own expectations, and we try to push the limits of what each ingredient can offer. We try to approach each harvest as a new opportunity to create something special, and as our winery has developed, we've started to look at how we can accentuate our wines with other parts of the agricultural bounty of New York State. We've co-fermented cider and grapes, we've aged beer on spent wine skins, we've blended fruit, wine, beer, and just about everything else.

This year we're bringing the botanical flavor profiles we've spent years developing in the brewery to our winery. We're excited to share with you this first release of Botanical Wine Coolers: a co-ferment of select wine grapes, freshly-harvested local fruits, and hand-selected botanicals grown on our own little farm.

We have blends of Chardonnay, peaches, and lemongrass, of Gewurztraminer, blueberries, and chamomile, and a lovely collaboration with our friends at Wild Arc Farm, a blend of Concord grape, Wild Arc's Concord Piquette, Riesling, and lemon verbena. Each was conditioned in the bottle with local wildflower honey for spritz, and each weighs in at an easy end of summer 6% abv. Grab a few bottles, drink them cold with friends, and enjoy the fruits of summer in the Hudson Valley.
