Last year we took our first adventure into growing our own botanicals for our beer. We planted a few dozen tangerine marigold plants in a small beer garden up at @hudsonvalleymike's house. The incredible little flowers are packed with citrus aroma and flavor, and are often used as an edible flower decoration in salads. The balance of tangerine peel, fresh squeezed citrus, and herbaceous earthiness also makes them a wonderful addition to our oak aged Sour Farmhouse. We are now very happy to introduce Blossom, brewed with local NY 6-row barley and raw red winter wheat, and aged in oak for over a year before being conditioned on as many little tangerine marigold flowers as we could pick.
